## Meaning

This is used to say what comes next in a sequence. If A is followed by B, it means B happens or appears right after A.

## Examples

- The main course is followed by dessert.
- The presentation begins with a short video, followed by a discussion about our new project goals.
- The sudden silence in the room was followed by a sharp, unexpected knock at the heavy wooden door.
