## Meaning

You use this to show that a certain amount of time has passed since the last event you mentioned. For example, 'two years later' means two years after that thing happened.

## Examples

- She left her job to travel the world, and five years later, she finally returned home to start a bakery.
- Ten years later, the small town had transformed into a bustling city, yet the old oak tree remained exactly where it had always stood.
