## Definition

someone who tries to make you feel small, unimportant, or ashamed. They act in a way that takes away your dignity or pride.

For teachers: a person who lowers the rank, prestige, or self-esteem of another. Often used in literary or formal contexts to describe one who degrades or humiliates others.
