## Definition

a language spoken by the Abkhaz people in the Caucasus region. It is very different from most other languages and has its own unique writing system.

For teachers: a Northwest Caucasian language spoken by the Abkhaz people in the Republic of Abkhazia and parts of Georgia. It is characterised by a complex system of consonants and a unique orthography.
