## Definition

a rare medical condition where a person loses the ability to move or speak for a short time. It is often caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain.

For teachers: a temporary loss of motor function and speech, typically resulting from cerebral anoxia. Often used in historical medical contexts or to describe specific neurological events.
