## Definition

to make something return to a normal state after it has been changed or damaged. You use this when a process or a system goes back to how it was before.

For teachers: to restore something to a normal or standard state after a period of deviation or disruption. Often used in technical or formal contexts to describe the reversal of a pathological or abnormal condition.
