## Definition

the horizontal line on a graph that shows the position of a point. It is usually labeled as 'x' and helps you find how far left or right a point is.

For teachers: the horizontal coordinate in a two-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system. Refers to the axis or the value associated with a specific point on that axis.
