## Definition

a strong green alcoholic drink that was very popular in the past. It is made from herbs and has a very bitter taste.

For teachers: a strong, green-coloured alcoholic beverage distilled from wormwood and other herbs. Historically associated with the Belle Époque and often linked to the literary and artistic movements of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
