## Definition

describing a person or system that believes in only one correct way to do things and does not allow any exceptions.

For teachers: characterised by the belief in absolute truth, authority, or principles that admit no exceptions or compromises.

## Examples

- The leader had an absolutistic view of his power.
- The absolutistic nature of the old law made it impossible to apply in modern society.
