## Definition

the process of taking something in, like a liquid or a gas, into a solid or a liquid. It can also mean the act of becoming very interested in something and forgetting everything else.

For teachers: the process by which a substance is taken into the interior of another substance; also refers to the state of being deeply engaged in an activity or thought. Often used in scientific contexts to describe physical or chemical processes.
