## Definition

the quality of being so strange or silly that it is hard to believe. It describes a situation that makes no sense at all.

For teachers: the quality of being extremely foolish, unreasonable, or lacking in logic. Often used to describe situations that defy rational explanation or are intentionally ridiculous.

## Examples

- The absurdness of the situation made everyone laugh.
- The absurdness of the new tax rules led to widespread confusion among small business owners.
- The play's humor relies on the absurdness of its premise, where characters must navigate a world where gravity is entirely random and unpredictable.
