## Definition

feeling that you have no will or desire to do anything. You use this to describe a person who feels completely empty of motivation.

For teachers: characterised by a lack of will or desire to act; suffering from a state of apathy or emotional numbness.

## Examples

- The patient appeared abulic and showed no interest in his surroundings.
- Doctors noted that the patient's abulic state made it difficult for him to follow even the simplest instructions.
- The clinical report described the subject as abulic, noting a profound absence of spontaneous movement and a total lack of emotional response to external stimuli.
