## Definition

a very small unit of electrical voltage. It is used in physics to measure tiny amounts of electricity.

For teachers: a unit of electromotive force equal to one hundred millionth of a volt. It is primarily used in the context of electromagnetic theory and historical scientific measurements.

## Examples

- The scientist measured the voltage in abvolts.
- In the early twentieth century, researchers used the abvolt to describe the minute electrical potentials found in certain biological tissues.
- While the modern volt is the standard unit, the abvolt remains a useful reference point in theoretical physics for calculating the strength of magnetic fields in specific units of measurement.
