## Definition

the act of agreeing to something or giving it your support. It is an old-fashioned word that you might see in legal or formal writing.

For teachers: the act of yielding to a request, demand, or proposal; the state of being in agreement. Often used in legal contexts to describe the granting of a right or permission.
