## Definition

in a way that is not the main point or is only a small part of something. You use this when something is secondary or not the most important part of a situation.

For teachers: in a secondary or subordinate manner; as an accessory or in a supporting role. Often used in legal or formal contexts to describe a position of lesser importance.

## Examples

- He was involved in the crime accessarily.
- The defendant was found guilty of the crime accessarily, as he had provided the tools but did not participate in the act itself.
