happening by chance or without being planned. It is an old word that people rarely use today.

For teachers: occurring by chance or without intention; accidental.

## Examples

- The two travelers met by accidentary means.
- The discovery of the hidden cave was purely accidentary, as the explorers had been searching for a different route.
