## Definition

To be formally introduced to an important person, or to have something officially given or shown to you.

For teachers: To be formally introduced to someone of higher rank or status, or to have something (an award, a document, findings) formally given or displayed. Passive form of "present to".

## Examples

- The winners were presented to the president.
- Each new graduate was presented to the head of the university before receiving their certificate.
- The research was presented to a panel of skeptical experts, who spent two hours probing every assumption before granting their approval.
