## Definition

to add someone or something to a list of people or things that are not allowed. You use this when you want to stop someone from doing a specific activity or entering a place.

For teachers: to place a person or entity on a list of those prohibited from a specific activity or location. Often used in the passive voice to describe the status of being excluded.
