## Definition

a foolish person who is easily tricked or taken advantage of. People also use it for someone who gets blamed for everything.

For teachers: a foolish or gullible person; one who is habitually tricked, ridiculed, or made a scapegoat. A term of abuse originating in Trinidad and Tobago slang.

## Examples

- Don't be a bobolee and lend him more money.
- Everyone at the office makes him the bobolee, blaming him for their own mistakes to avoid trouble with the boss.
- He played the village bobolee for so long, absorbing every insult with a sad smile, that no one noticed the sharp intelligence hiding behind his eyes.
