## Definition

a type of wild cattle from ancient times that lived in Europe, Asia, and North Africa. It is the ancestor of the cows we have today.

For teachers: an extinct species of large wild cattle, Bos primigenius, which inhabited the forests of Europe, North Africa, and much of Asia. It is the wild ancestor of modern domestic cattle.
