## Definition

having too much pride in yourself and thinking you are better than everyone else. You use this to describe someone who is very full of themselves.

For teachers: characterised by excessive pride in one's own abilities or appearance. Often used to describe a person who overestimates their own importance or talent.

## Examples

- He was so conceited that he refused to listen to any advice.
- The young athlete was conceited after winning the gold medal, thinking he was the best player in the world.
