## Definition

feeling sleepy, confused, or not in control because of a drug or medicine. You use this to describe someone who has been given a substance that changes how they think or move.

For teachers: experiencing the physiological effects of a narcotic or sedative substance. Often used predicatively after linking verbs like 'look' or 'seem'.
