## Definition

thinking too much about yourself and your own importance. You use this to describe someone who is very self-centered and doesn't care about others.

For teachers: characterised by an excessive or exaggerated sense of one's own importance, abilities, or qualities. Often carries a negative connotation of self-absorption.
