## Definition

a person from the Bible who was known for being very close to God. In some old stories, he is said to have gone to heaven without dying.

For teachers: a biblical figure and patriarch appearing in the Book of Genesis, traditionally identified as the son of Jared and father of Methuselah. In theological and apocryphal traditions, he is noted for his unique translation to heaven without experiencing physical death.
