## Definition

a person who has very sharp vision and notices every small detail. You use this to describe someone who is excellent at spotting things that others miss.

For teachers: a person characterized by exceptionally keen sight or a high degree of attentiveness to detail. Often used metaphorically to describe someone who monitors a situation with extreme vigilance.

## Examples

- The editor has a hawkeye for spotting tiny spelling mistakes.
