## Definition

a type of drawing or exercise that shows objects in three dimensions. In physics, it describes a process where the volume of a gas stays the same.

For teachers: relating to or denoting a process or representation in which the volume of a system remains constant. Often used in thermodynamics to describe a gas process or in geometry to describe a specific type of projection.

## Examples

- The athlete performed several isometric exercises to build core strength.
- In an isometric drawing, all three axes are equally foreshortened to create a realistic three-dimensional effect on a flat surface.
- The technician monitored the pressure changes during the isometric phase of the experiment, ensuring that the volume of the gas remained strictly constant throughout the heating process.
