## Definition

products like clothes or hats that have the name or logo of a famous person, team, or brand on them. People buy it to show they are fans.

For teachers: goods or products associated with a particular brand, sports team, or entertainer, intended for sale to fans. A shortened form of 'merchandise'.

## Examples

- I bought some official merch at the concert.
- The team's championship win led to a massive surge in sales for jerseys and other official merch.
- While ticket sales provide the initial revenue, many independent artists rely heavily on merch sales to fund their touring expenses and studio time.

## Pitfalls

- Not "I bought many merches" but "I bought a lot of merch" — Merch is uncountable and does not have a plural form.
