## Definition

a unit of measurement for how fast something happens, equal to one million times per second. You usually see this when talking about computer speeds or radio signals.

For teachers: a unit of frequency equal to one million cycles per second. Often used to specify the clock speed of microprocessors or the frequency of radio waves.

## Examples

- The radio station broadcasts at 95.5 MHz.
- Older cordless phones often operated on the 900 MHz frequency, which sometimes caused interference with other household electronics.
