## Definition

having a brain that works or processes information differently from what is considered typical. This includes people with ADHD, autism, or dyslexia.

For teachers: possessing a brain that functions, learns, or processes information differently from the majority of the population. Frequently used in place of 'neurotypical' to reflect the diversity of cognitive conditions without implying a deficit.

- Many neurodivergent people find open-plan offices very distracting.
- The school adapted its teaching methods to better support neurodivergent students who require more visual instructions.
