## Definition

A word used to show a connection between things. It often shows what something is made from, what it contains, or who it belongs to.

For teachers: A preposition indicating a relationship between a part and a whole, or expressing possession, origin, composition, or reference.

## Examples

- She orders a cup of coffee.
- A small group of tourists gathered at the end of the long pier.
- The committee released a report of their findings, an indictment of the culture of a company that had lost its sense of purpose.
