## Definition

a person whose job is to help people buy, sell, or rent houses and land. You usually meet them when you are looking for a new home.

For teachers: a professional agent who facilitates the sale, purchase, or rental of real estate. When capitalised, it refers specifically to a member of the National Association of Realtors in the United States.
