## Definition

used to describe an event, shop, or product where everything has been sold and nothing is left. You can use it for concert tickets or items in a store.

For teachers: denoting a situation in which all available tickets, goods, or services have been purchased and none remain for sale. Often used predicatively after a linking verb like 'be' or 'is'.

## Examples

- I am sad because the concert is sold out.
- We tried to buy tickets for the championship game, but the stadium was already sold out.
- The boutique's latest collaboration was sold out within minutes of the online launch, leaving thousands of hopeful customers on the waiting list.
