## Definition

a state of being very sleepy or confused, often because of drugs, alcohol, or a lack of sleep. You might feel like you are in a deep sleep but still awake.

For teachers: a state of near-unconsciousness or insensibility, typically resulting from intoxication, fatigue, or illness. Often used to describe a mental state of extreme confusion or lack of awareness.
