## Definition

the whole process of making and selling a product, from the raw materials to the final delivery. It includes all the companies and people involved in getting the item to you.

For teachers: the sequence of processes involved in the production and distribution of a commodity. It encompasses all activities from the procurement of raw materials to the delivery of the final product to the end consumer.

## Examples

- The company is working to fix its global supply chain.
- A sudden shortage of computer chips caused a break in the supply chain for car manufacturers worldwide.
- Modern trade depends on a highly integrated supply chain where even a minor logistical failure at one node can result in significant delays and price hikes across the entire network.
