## Definition

the idea of moving from one place to another instantly without traveling through the space in between. It is a common concept in science fiction stories.

For teachers: the hypothetical instantaneous transportation of matter from one location to another without traversing the intervening space. Often used in the context of theoretical physics or science fiction.
