## Definition

used to say that something is definitely true and cannot be argued with. You use it when you want to show that a fact is very clear to everyone.

For teachers: used to emphasise that a statement is true and impossible to dispute or disagree with. Often serves to introduce a point that the speaker considers universally accepted.
