## Definition

not hurt or damaged after a dangerous event. You use this to describe someone who survives an accident or attack without any injuries.

For teachers: not injured or damaged in any way following a potentially harmful event. Often used predicatively after linking verbs such as 'emerge', 'escape', or 'remain'.

## Examples

- The driver walked away from the crash unharmed.
- Despite the severity of the earthquake, all the residents were found safe and unharmed in the village square.
- While the exterior of the historic building was scorched by the nearby fire, the priceless archives stored in the basement remained entirely unharmed.
