## Definition

To do a job or activity with other people. You often work together for a shared goal.

For teachers: To cooperate or collaborate on a task. The preposition 'for' is often used to introduce the shared objective or purpose.

## Examples

- We work together for the common good.
- The two departments must work together for the project to succeed.
- Academics from rival institutions agreed to work together for the advancement of science, setting aside their personal differences for the greater good.

## Pitfalls

- Not "We work together for build a new school." but "We work together to build a new school." — Use 'for' with a noun phrase (for a goal) and 'to' with a verb (to do something).
