SIMPLE

COMPLEX

Usage

Almost always followed by 'as'. Typically used to qualify a statement by specifying its limits.

Pitfall

in so far asinsofar asWhile 'in so far as' is an accepted variant, 'insofar' is the standard modern spelling for the single-word adverb.
