Usage

usually followed by 'to' to show the start and end of a list or scale.

Teaching tip

point out that while 'ranging from' can function as a participle phrase modifying a noun, it is most commonly used to provide specific examples of a general category mentioned earlier.

Pitfall

ranging between A to Branging from A to Bthe standard prepositional pair is 'from... to'; 'between' is used with 'and'.
